How does LubeDesign Software work and how will it work in my computer systems?

LubeDesign Software is developed in Microsoft Access software application.  Therefore you will need to have this package installed on all computers using the LubeDesign application.   The computers can be stand-alone PC's, or server based workstations.   Access is available in most Microsoft office professional software applications.  LubeDesign software is applicable to older Access 2.0 and the newer Access 7.0 versions.

Can I use LubeDesign Software on individual computers or do you need a server based system?

The answer is both or either.   LubeDesign applications can work in individual computers, in computers linked to SQL servers, or in stand-alone server application.  The applications are designed to work in all the Microsoft environments and can easily be upgraded to more complex SQL environments at any time even after the initial installation.

What advantages do I have using SQL environments?

SQL servers add a very distinct advantage especially if more than one user is involved.  The SQL server acts as a location for the data bases that are key to the program applications.  By using the SQL server to hold these databases, changes made by any user are then immediately available to others.  This advantage also works to the benefit of all so changes are useable and available to all users.

Can I operate Lube Design Software in my Company Server or must it reside on my C-drive?

Lube Design software is designed for maximum flexibility.  For an administrator, the application can reside on a C-drive so that updates and revisions can be facilitated.  For other users, it is best to have it reside in a server location, so any revisions by the administrator will be immediately available to the users.   The operation of the application is not affected by this location operation and can be in both those residences and used at the same time, especially if the tables reside in an SQL server.

How is Lube Design Software updated and how often?

The software application is always under review and development to meet the challenges of our industry.  With the purchase of the application, a license agreement, and any specialty modifications for the user, LubeDesign, Inc. continually evaluates the analytical models and the application for improvements.  These improvements are then made available to the users by a variety of installation methods.  Depending on the application, these updates are either handled by the user, or by LubeDesign representatives.  Most application revisions are handled on a time line as they are developed, or as the user needs dictate.

How does LubeDesign determine what is the best application for my company?

LubeDesign Software applications are not canned programs.  Each application is evaluated and with much involvement with the company representatives, with a clear direction of the application need and service required, and with consideration of resources and cost, a program is developed for each individual user.  This may be a simple system for costing and formula evaluation, a more complicated system designed to aide the formulation developer, or a complete system to handle a lube plant operation.  Every effort is made to meet the needs while keeping the budget workable.
